Rhode Island School of Design is a private art and design college with an acceptance rate of 24%. Located on College Hill in Providence,  Rhode Island, RISD is one of the top schools of art in the United States. The Rhode Island School of Design campus is adjacent to  Brown University, and students can apply to both schools to receive a dual degree from RISD and Brown. This means that for every 100 students who applied, 24 students were admitted, making RISDs admissions process highly competitive. On the math section, 50% of admitted students scored between 580 and 750, while 25% scored below 580 and 25% scored above 750. Applicants with a composite SAT score of 1440 or higher will have particularly competitive chances at RISD. Requirements Rhode Island School of design does not require the SAT writing section. Note that RISD participates in the scorechoice program, which means that the admissions office will consider your highest score from each individual section across all SAT test dates. Admissions Chances Rhode Island School of Design has a highly competitive admissions pool with a low acceptance rate. However, RISD applicants need more than good grades and test scores to be admitted. All applicants must submit a portfolio of 12 to 20 images of their work, prepare a creative assignment, and submit a personal essay. RISD also encourages applicants to submit up to three  letters of recommendation written by teachers or professionals who know you well. Students with particularly compelling stories or achievements and talent in the arts can still receive serious consideration even if their test scores are outside RISDs average range.
